Our History

As a recent college graduate in the mid-1960s, Colorado native Larry Pisciotta became the owner/operator of his first national chain tire store. It wasn’t long before his hard work and friendly demeanor landed him another location. Then another. And another.


By the mid-1980s, Larry owned and operated 13 different tire store locations, but he wanted more — something less about moving tires and more about serving customers.


“PEOPLE OVER PROFIT."

Larry sold his 13 tire stores and began work on his vision of an auto service center with unmatched customer service. In 1990 he opened the first Brakes Plus in Englewood, CO, and people quickly fell in love with his new brand and philosophy of “people over profit.”

In establishing a culture of unmatched customer service, where employees loved to work and customers loved to shop, Larry’s philosophy and standards set up Brakes Plus for continued success and growth.

Larry knew he didn’t want to simply open any automotive service center. His goal was to create an environment for career-oriented technicians who have a heart to serve customers well.

Brakes Plus became a place where relationships were more important than transactions - where getting things right was more important than simply getting them done. It was a place where “fast, friendly and fixed right” became more than a statement to hang on the wall – it was a promise each and every day.
